My Education
In 2020, I was admitted to the University of California, Irvine, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Literary Journalism. This degree provided a strong foundation in communication, critical thinking, and storytelling—skills that shaped how I approach community engagement and public service. Developing the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and responsibly has been essential preparation for pursuing graduate studies in a more concentrated field.
Beginning this fall, I will continue my education at the University of California, Irvine, where I have been admitted to pursue a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management.
My work has always been rooted in service and community building. Public administration focuses on how organizations implement policies and programs that serve the public good, and that mission closely reflects the work I’ve pursued throughout my career. I have consistently gravitated toward roles that strengthen communities and expand access to opportunity.
This pursuit is also deeply personal. As the daughter of two immigrants and the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree, education has always held profound meaning for me. While earning my undergraduate degree marked an important milestone for my family, I see it as the beginning rather than the endpoint. Education is power, and I believe it can open doors not only for individuals but for entire communities.
Through this program, I hope to build a career within outdoor and environmental organizations that focus on sustainability, community access, and affordability. I am especially passionate about expanding opportunities in outdoor recreation and niche sports—spaces that have historically lacked accessibility for many communities. By working at the intersection of public service, nonprofit leadership, and environmental stewardship, I hope to help create programs and policies that make outdoor spaces and experiences more inclusive.
What excites me most about this program is its emphasis on collaborative leadership for sustainable communities—preparing leaders to work across sectors, strengthen institutions, and develop community-centered solutions in an era of social and environmental change.
